100-MAN PROJECT

Tuesday night, June 15, at the Liberty Fire Department training room, 24 of 29 drivers and 4 of 6 female aides met and received the written and verbal information to equip them to begin their job as a driver or aide one day per month as a resource for the area residents who will need a ride for various issues in their lives.

Shelly and Janice Patterson brought their used van that the 100 Man Project purchased from them and both instructed the group on operation of the lift and handicapped van driving procedures. Roger King, R.C.A.T.S. Transportation Director, brought handouts and gave details on how the local C.A.R.S. program is expected to "dovetail" with the larger countywide system that has been in place a dozen years. Our Program does indeed plan to try to refer individuals to his whenever possible.

The remaining 6 drivers and 2 aides will receive their training next Tuesday night at 7:00 PM at the Liberty Fire Department and anyone who may be remotely interested in this new community-based program is welcome!!!! Flyers are available to post in the businesses you frequent.....this service will do no good for others if it is not utilized . . .

For the 100 Man Project, Tom Meacham

“Listen, I know you're struggling right now. Here's the deal: The only thing we're going to leave on this earth worth anything is the influence we're having on others. There's a lot of people we're going to impact. The question is . . . for you, and me . . . how are we impacting them?” Joe Gibbs, three-time Super Bowl champion coach.
