United Methodist Women

The UMW held it’s annual UMW Sunday on October 10th at 11:00 am. The service was "Serving Others". Two of our UMW members were honored at this service for their service to the UMW and to our Church. Gloria Kivett presented highlights of Odelia Hinshaw’s service. As the oldest living UMW member, Odelia has held many positions in the UMW and the Church. She performed all duties with love, concern and commitment to her Church and the UMW.

Barbara Beck presented highlights of Martha Bigham’s service to the UMW, Liberty First and Liberty Grove UMCs, as well as to the community.

These two members have been outstanding members of the UMW and Church. They were presented with Methodist pins.

The UMW honored our Pastor Gene Dean for his commitment and dedication to the Church, for his competence with the children, adults and senior citizens in the Church. Gloria Kivett pinned him with a UMW pin, showing our appreciation for his service at the Church.

We also presented him with golf balls to use in his leisure time. We, the UMW, love our Pastor.
After the service, the UMW held a luncheon for everyone present at the service. It was enjoyed by all present.

Our Annual Veteran’s Day Supper for November 14th has been cancelled. We are planning something to replace it for early next year. The District Spiritual Prayer Breakfast was held at Mt. Pisgah UMC on April 18 at 8:00 AM.
